Note 7 Exploding Batteries
Unless you’ve been living under a rock these last few weeks, you’ve heard the explosive news about Samsung’s latest Note 7 phone. There have been more than one reports of the new model exploding. As of September 1st, the company announced that they planned on enacting an exchange program to replace the dangerous models.
The company is making it very clear, though subtly, that any and all owners of the phone take part in the program immediately. Turn your Note 7 off as soon as possible, and send it in.
‘”Our number one priority is the safety of our customers. We are asking users to power down their Galaxy Note7s and exchange them as soon as possible,” says DJ Koh, President of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics.’
With 35 reported cases of exploding phone batteries, including one that burned down a family jeep, and another where a six year old boy was burned , it’s a good thing that the South Korean company is taking this seriously.
This could be a huge disaster for Samsung, even if they are handling this properly. The Note 7 was poised to compete with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus. Samsung had been counting on the new model to help with the financial recovery that they had been searching for. Hopefully, for them, they caught the problem in time and continue their growth.
